AI-Powered Search Tool for Smarter Video Discovery
YouTube announced a new AI-driven search feature in a statement released on Thursday. This tool will display a carousel of recommended videos from creators, curating clips based on your search query. It also provides descriptions and relevant content tailored to your request.
Currently, YouTube Premium members can test this feature, while a wider rollout for all users has not yet been confirmed.
Expanded Access to Conversational AI Tool
YouTube first introduced its conversational AI tool in November 2023, initially offering it to Premium subscribers in the U.S. on Android devices. Soon, even some non-Premium users will gain access.
This interactive feature allows viewers to ask questions about a video via an “Ask” icon at the bottom of the screen. The “Ask about this video” prompt lets you select suggested queries or type your own—all without interrupting playback.
YouTube confirmed that this tool will become available to more users in the coming days.
