ADT Launches Next-Gen Security System with Google Nest Integration – Starts at $269

ADT has unveiled its latest home security system, featuring Google Nest integration and reviving popular hardware elements from the discontinued Nest Secure. Priced at $269, the new system introduces upgraded hardware and paves the way for upcoming smart home innovations.
What’s New in ADT’s Latest Security System?
After a quiet website launch in recent weeks, ADT’s revamped security system is now widely available. The hardware, first leaked in October, has been completely redesigned for better performance and user experience.
Key Hardware Upgrades
- New Base Station: A sleek, rounded design with LED status lights (similar to Nest Secure’s visual alerts).
- Smart Keypad Detection: Lights up when users approach (within 3 feet), a feature missing in ADT’s previous model.
- DECT/ULE Radios: Ensures more stable connections with less interference, improving reliability and installation.
An optional secondary keypad ($99) offers added convenience, while premium door/window sensors ($40) include a bypass button for partial disarm—a beloved Nest Secure feature.
Enhanced Sensors & Smart Home Compatibility
The system supports:
- Premium door/window sensors (with temporary alarm bypass)
- Motion detectors, smoke/CO/heat alarms, and water leak sensors
- Optional indoor siren and black sensor covers for discreet placement
All sensors now use DECT/ULE technology for stronger performance. Users can also bundle Nest cameras at a discount with purchases over $349.
Flexible Setup & Monitoring Options
- Self-Setup: DIY installation with no professional fees.
- Pro Installation: $180 (requires 36-month monitoring at $24.99/month).
- Self-Monitoring: After the first month, users can opt out of paid plans.
Future Software Upgrades & “Trusted Neighbor” Feature
ADT’s new software platform will enable deeper Google Nest integration and upcoming smart home enhancements. The first major update, “Trusted Neighbor”, arrives later this summer and uses Nest’s Familiar Faces to grant secure home access.
ADT’s Chief Business Officer, Wayne Thorsen, likened the launch to a “new game console”—with the best features still in development.
